Repentance – April 17, 1916

Father I am coming home.

Thy child who far hath strayed.

The willful heart once want to roam.

Now at Thine altars laid.

Forgive the wayward life I led.

Cleanse Thou me of my shame.

Visit not Thy wrath upon my head.

Though Thee I oft profane.

For I now shun that downward path.

See the error of my ways.

Henceforth I’ll fear Thy righteous wrath.

And ever upward gaze.

Father I am coming home.

Home! Never more to stray.

The willful heart once won’t to roam.

Content at Thine altar I lay.
